#108 Minus 4 = Today's Temperature (104!)

Today's high is a record breaking 104 degrees.  The last time it was this hot in New York City was 1957.  It's just too darn hot to think about much of anything right now except for swimming pools & popsicles...

#77 Summer Sunsets

I'm currently obsessed with sunsets.  Their magic is hard to fully describe with a photograph because the feeling you get of being a minuscule part of the universe when you look into the sky doesn't really come across.  I'm obsessed to a point where I want to try and paint an entire room the colors of the sky at dusk (or maybe start out with one wall).  Sunsets make me happy.

Happy, happy, happy...

#48 I'm Bored

I'm daydreaming the days away... wishing I could make a fort, steal the fake skis from my parents once-existent Nordic Track, don a fur coat & gloves, and pretend to cross-country ski around the house and retreat into an igloo made of couch pillows taking my little sister with me, wrapped in blankets, to cuddle and give Eskimo kisses to.  Oh, to be a kid again...

#47 Dancing in Black, White & Grey

Sometimes I just feel like dancing.  There's no reason for it, just an innate need to move to the music playing in my head.  I have no shame.  Nobody should when it comes to dancing because then there's no fun in it.  Just grab a partner & let loose, it's Friday!

#39 Photography... Feat. the iPhone

Today I'm featuring a few of my friends' photos they took with their phones.  I'm always amazed at how a little phone can get the job done.

#38 Missing Home

Sometimes I miss the strangest things about home.  Today it's  storms.  Amanda Friedman's photography perfectly represents that eerie feeling of misty nights and half-light days.  The first photo reminds me of exactly what it feels like outside right before a bad storm hits- too still, too green, too light & dark at the same time...

Be sure to check out the rest of her work & her Etsy shop for cool prints.

#37 Virtual Sugar High

I've been staring at this photo for weeks now.  Every time I'm feeling down, I look at this photo and magically am much happier... and hungrier.  Check out the photographer's work here: http://www.bethgalton.com/

 Happy Friday!!

#9 Magic - Example 1: Photography

I like magic.  Not the card game or anything to do with creepy witches.   Just ordinary magic that catches you off guard and distracts you for a good half an hour.
